Since I've started asking people about their style and taste I've been amazed by how frequently people say something along these lines. Could it be true? Are we, in fact, a nation of eclectic individuals? The social scientist in me is skeptical. I'll keep you posted.

When I was younger I would have probably had more specific answers to those questions, but now that I am older, I would have to say that my style is now "whatever I like", which is mostly thrifted and vintage, and it's the same for how I decorate my apartment, what I listen to, read, etc. This is certainly not true of a lot of people. Perhaps it's related to world becoming smaller because of the internet and that we are exposed to so many more options?
ReplyDelete@Forest City Fashonista, always enjoy reading your thoughts. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteI think we're a nation that wants to be eclectic individuals, but I'm sure the success rate is a minority. :)
ReplyDeleteI'd like to think we are, but you've got a bit of a sampling bias there.
