John works at H&M, and everything he's wearing comes from there. I'm liking the sweater and striped shirt paired with the newsboy cap, the near monochromatic blue. I'm liking the blurring of formal and casual elements. But even more, I'm liking this construction scaffold on Walnut St that I've used as a backdrop in two shoots this week. It just looks like the right prop for street style in the wake of hurricane Sandy. Fashion looks at its best when posed before its own metaphorical contradiction. The endless quest for glamour and novelty meets the messy material reality of building new things.
